Workshop

LLMs and Access to Political Information

Tuesday, 12 May 2026 · University College Dublin

ParliView is hosting a one-day workshop on building and studying AI systems that shape citizens' access to political information.

As AI technologies increasingly mediate political discourse and civic engagement, researchers and practitioners face both opportunities to enhance democratic participation and challenges in ensuring these systems are fair, transparent, and effective.

We welcome submissions on

  • AI for Legislative Information Access: Parliamentary transparency tools, summarisation, legislative search and retrieval, question-answering over parliamentary records
  • Conversational AI and Political Information: Chatbots, voter advice applications, civic recommendation systems, political Q&A agents
  • Human-AI Interaction in Civic Contexts: Transparency, explainability, user trust and credibility in political AI systems

Submission

Extended abstracts, maximum 500 words. Accepted abstracts will be invited for an oral presentation. Limited travel support is available for early-career researchers.
